Last week, we brewed up something completely different.

We’ve worked with Oakwood Cemetery in the past, bringing our beer to their beautiful grounds for events and performances. While there, we found out about the rich history of Troy brewers buried there, and thought of an idea: if those men could have spanned the decades and centuries between them to brew something collaboratively, what would it look like? It was a novel idea, and we wanted to find out the answer.

Our Dead Brewers Collaboration is our interpretation of the product of such a team-up. Our beer history friend Gerry Lorentz found some old recipes and ingredient sheets, and helped us fill in the gaps. Styled on an English bitter, Dead Brewers has a few uniquely Troy twists. You can find out more about this beer and the history of the brewers buried at Oakwood Cemetery next week, when our Rare Forums series goes on the road. Event link is in the comments.

Stay Tuned While We Look for a New Space:

After over 10 years of crafting beer, building community, and making incredible memories, our time at this space has ended. While we’ve faced our share of obstacles, we’re incredibly proud of what we’ve built and beyond grateful for everyone who has been part of this journey. Our last day of business was April 13.

Through the years, we’ve had so much fun—hosting incredible bands, unforgettable events, and, most importantly, building a community that has meant everything to us. We can’t thank everyone enough who has supported us, stuck by our side, and shared in this adventure through the good, the great, and the tough times. Your support has meant the world to us, and we appreciate you more than we can say.

To everyone who has worked with us, for us, and had fun with us along the way—thank you. You’ve made Rare Form what it is, and we’re forever grateful.

As for what’s next? We’re searching for a new home, but until we find the right space, Rare Form will take a pause. This isn’t goodbye forever — just a break.
